THE FILTH OF POWER
Unsicherheiten, the German word that blends ideas such as insecurity, uncertainty and unsafety, figures prominently in the book In Search of Politics by the Polish sociologist Zygmunt Bauman (Poznán, 1925). These are the states that Francisco Reina conjures to perfection in EXTRAÑA, a series of photographs in which the title – the Spanish for “strange” – is just one swapped letter away from “Spain.” And something is rotten in the Kingdom of Spain.
